Have you been getting your home summer ready? We understand that there are a billion and one things to do to prepare your home for the new season. We have created a simple, yet concise Indoors/Outdoors checklist for you to follow to make sure your home is ready for these hot weathered months.
Outdoors
- Recheck siding and trim for rot and other damage
- Remove window screens and clean, repair, and replace if necessary
- Inspect your air conditioning unit
- Clean out dirt and debris from gutters and eaves
- Power wash desks, patios, and furniture
- Repaint any peeling paint
Indoors
- Clean out fridge coils
- Empty out dehumidifier pans
- Air out area rugs by taking them outside, shaking them, and hanging them over the deck
- Adjust and clean the ceiling fans to the summer setting
- Store your winter bedding away
- Close the chimney damper
- Re-pot houseplants
- Open windows on cooler days to get fresh air flowing throughout the home
