June 28th is National Insurance Day

Since June 28th is National Insurance Day, it’s the perfect opportunity to advise you of the beauty of insurance. Insurance policies come with many different features, benefits, and prices. You should fully understand the coverage and the costs of any policy that you are considering purchasing. It is very important to be sure that any policies that you are purchasing are adequate for your needs.

Are You Covered?

Building a stable personal financial plan begins with protecting your most important assets. Having the right insurance policies will help you safeguard your earning power and your possessions. For more information on the following insurances, or to find out about other insurance products that Troy Insurance offers, please visit our Insurance page here.
For 60 years now, Troy Insurance, Inc. has worked to make sure that our customers have the best coverages in place to protect their families and property. Please contact our office if you have any questions about your current policies or for a free consultation on additional coverage.

There are six insurance policies that no one should be without:

1. Life Insurance

If your family were to face a financial hardship if you died, life insurance should be a priority. Life Insurance protects the people who are financially dependent on you.

2. Long-Term Disability Insurance
Many people choose to ignore the prospect of long-term disability believing that “nothing will happen to me”. You should be covered by a Long-Term Disability policy that provides enough coverage to enable you to continue your current lifestyle even if you can no longer continue working.
3. Health Insurance
Even a simple trip to the family doctor can be costly, apply for health insurance. A serious injury or hospital stay can generate a bill that would cause a financial burden for you and your family.
4. Home Insurance
Everyone should have protection whether you rent your home or own it. Home Insurance protects you if fire, storm, or theft damages your home. Additionally, it protects you if someone is injured on your property. If you rent, you should not count on the landlord’s insurance (their insurance only covers the building). Renters Insurance will cover your possessions in the event of damaged or stolen goods.
5. Automobile Insurance
Connecticut law requires that all registered motor vehicles have insurance. Having no automobile insurance or purchasing the minimum coverage puts everything that you own at risk if you are involved in an accident and someone is injured or their property is damaged.
6. Umbrella Insurance
Umbrella policy is the additional protection you need in case a judgment against you exceeds the liability limits of your existing auto or homeowners policy. Available in amounts ranging from one to five million dollars, excess liability coverage increases your personal liability limits by adding protection to your current auto, boat or homeowners policies.
