One Flu Over . . . and the Family’s Next

One flew over the cuckoo’s nest? More like one flu over . . . and the family’s next. More than 3 million people each year catch the infamous influenza (or for short, the flu). It’s contagious, but it’s easily preventable by following these three easy tasks:

Avoid Contact with Sick People

If you have the flu, you shouldn’t be around anyone. Encountering someone face-to-face can spread germs. It is best to stay in bed and rest, and come on, who wouldn’t want an excuse to stay in bed all day?

Flu Vaccination

One shot or nasal spray can prevent you and your loved ones from getting the flu for the entire flu season. Get vaccinated at your doctors, pharmacy, or at many other places offering vaccination. Click here to find out where you can get your flu shot or nasal spray.

Wash your hands

Everyone, especially kids, need to wash their hands often. After sneezing, or coming in contact with anyone or anything you know others have touched, it is very important to sanitize or wash your hands.

Simple, right? Taking these actions to prevent the flu can avoid missed school/work days. And with school beginning, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Black Friday shopping, I’m sure none of us want to miss out on the fun.
